Malasebe was Still Alive-Officer
While giving evidence today against 8 Police Officers Charged with the alleged murder of Malasebe, Police Officer Mosese Turaganivalu revealed that he was picked up that morning at around 6am and taken to Valelevu after he was instructed to take down Malasebe's statement.
Turaganivalu revealed that he entered the Crime Office only to find Malasebe lying on a mattress on the floor and was having breathing difficulties.
He was not aware of what transpired at the station when Malasebe was brought in.
Another Police Constable, who was tasked with recording all calls and names of people brought in for questioning told the court that she never saw Malasebe at the Valelevu Police station. Another Officer who was present also said he never saw Malasebe but could hear someone yelling from the Crime Office.
It is alleged that the eight officers picked Malasebe from his home at mid night and assaulted him at the police station which resulted in his death.
The case continues this afternoon.
