Five of the men allegedly involved in the murder of Tevita Malasebe appeared in the Suva High Court this morning.

Judge Justice Nazhat Shameem agreed to change the assurity of the five after concerns were raised earlier by the Prosecution that they did not want the wives of the accused to act as assurity.

Justice Shameem also set a date of September 20th for a plea to be taken from all the 8 police officers from the Valelevu Police Station implicated in the case.

It is alleged that the 8 officers, Lole Vulaca, Waisale Boletawa, Maika Rawaqera, Jone Cama, Eronimo Susukoro, Rusiate Korovusere, Eremasi Nalaga and Pita Matai assaulted Malasebe in March this year in relation to a robbery with violence case which resulted in his death.
