The President of the Methodist Church of Fiji, Reverend Laisiasa Ratabacaca has raised a major concern today that majority of the prisoners in jail are Methodists.

During his opening address at Naduri village, Macuata, Rev Ratabacaca challenged the church leaders and said that it is their responsibility to help fight the rising crime rate.

He also reminded the church ministers and delegates on the 2nd day of the Methodist Conference to live a life of discipline as this is what the Church was known for, during John Wesley's time, the founder of the Methodist Church.

Meanwhile the newly elected Vice President, Ratu Peni Volavola acknowledged the Tui Macuata, Ratu Aisea Katonivere and his people for the welcome ceremony and for hosting the conference.

The conference continues this afternoon.
