Vodafone Fiji 7s coach, Ben Ryan said majority of the team for the Olympic Games next year is likely to be made up of local players however he may bring in some overseas based players.
In a special talkback on Viti FM today, Ryan said some of our players are likely to leave due to overseas contracts however he is trying to ensure that they have conditions in the contracts that will make the players available for the Olympics.
Speaking on the team’s performance after securing three wins in the current World Rugby Series, Ben Ryan revealed that he is doing a lot of work on defence.
He also said a lot of lessons have been learnt and one of his decisions is to ensure that no one intervenes in the team process.
Ryan also said that there was a big issue regarding player dehydration when he started coaching Fiji in 2013.
However this is now fixed.
