Majority of accused in Narere murder case acquitted
Justice Temo also acquitted 5 accused of the murder charge however, he ruled that there is a case to answer on the rape charge.
The five are Keshwa Nand, Vikash Chand, Sat Dewan Nair, Binesh Kumar and Anil Singh.
The only accused out of the seven, Anesh Ram who was the former boyfriend of the 22 year old deceased was cross examined by the Prosecution today.
Judge Temo ruled that he found no evidence that the 6 participated in the murder of the 22 year old woman on 8th June, 2008 and found the 6 not guilty of murder however there is evidence from the 25 witnesses that there was evidence in the rape charge.
In the stand, Anesh Ram who is charged with murder and rape told the court while being cross examined today, that on the 8th of June, he was drinking grog with three others at about 7pm and at 11.30pm he went home to his mother to have his dinner and slept.
He maintained that he never met the deceased on the night and he did not kill her.
The cross examination continues this afternoon.
