Majority of the board members of the Fiji National Provident Fund have been replaced.
Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama had confirmed that the composition of the board has been changed which now sees a new Chairman and only one current board member retained.
Bainimarama said the government wants to ensure that member’s interests are always protected and the goals of objectives of the FNPF are clearly met by the board.
So Permanent Secretary for Labour Taito Waqa is the only board member retained.
Chairman Parmesh Chand, Howard Politini, James Datta, Felix Anthony and Daniel Urai have been replaced.
Acting Finance Permanent Secretary John Prasad is the new Chairman of FNPF.
The other board members appointed are Joe Rodan and Ajith Kodagoda. Another two board members are yet to be appointed.
