A major hollywood movie is highly likely to be shot here in Fiji.
Fijivillage has been reliably informed by a number of sources that the pre-production team is already at certain locations.
Some hotels and an estate have been booked and other suppliers are being identified for the major project.
CBS Films is involved in this project.
It has already been highlighted that Fiji is an attractive movie destination with the locations we have and the tax incentives that are being offered by the government.
The cast of the movie is yet to be confirmed.
When Fijivillage contacted Film Fiji Chairperson Shaenaz Voss, she said that no confirmation has come through.
Voss said she can confirm that CBS productions has been in the country for the past few months.
She said they are just scouting for locations.
Voss also confirmed that there are a couple of projects being eyed.
Major hollywood movies that have been shot in Fiji include Blue Lagoon starring Brooke Shields in the 1980s, Return of the Blue Lagoon, and Castaway starring Tom Hanks.
