Major changes in Fiji soccer
The first two major soccer tournaments from next year, the Fiji FACT and Battle of the Giants will be played for 90 minutes and no longer 60 minutes as it has been since both tournaments inception.
The Fiji Football Association under the leadership of new President Rajesh Patel made some big decisions in their board meeting yesterday.
Patel said the Vodafone Fiji FACT and Inkk Mobile BOG will not be completed in five days which used to be the case in the past.
Next year’s major soccer tournament venues have also been confirmed with the Vodafone Fiji FACT to be played at Subrail Park in Labasa, Inkk Mobile BOG at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori and the Courts IDC at Govind Park in Ba.
In line with this, Patel has also confirmed that some Premier teams will play in the first two major soccer tournaments.
Furthermore, Patel confirmed that from next year they will run Under 21 National soccer league competition as part of their development plan.
