The government has a major role to play to ensure that children of school age are in school and disadvantaged families or those in hardship have adequate food and facilities.
Those are the words of Fiji Council of Social Service Director, Hassan Khan speaking to our reporter after their 2008 National Conference on Social Development which came to end today.
FCOSS Chief Executive Hassan Khan said that the delegates present at the conference suggested ways and strategies which could be used to tackle the hardships faced by the community today.
Khan added that concerns were also raised on the roles of the major social service organizations.
More than 100 delegates were present at the two day conference at the Waterfront hotel in Lautoka.
