A major investigation has begun in Rakiraki in relation to the discovery of a body of a woman in a sack at Malake Landing.

Director CID Waisea Vakamocea and Divisional Crime Officer Western, SP Vijay Singh are now on their way to Malake Landing where the body was found.

Vakamocea said their officers have arrived at the scene.

When asked if the body could be one of the girls who were reported missing in Naria some time ago, Vakamocea only said that investigations are progress and they have not ruled out any possibility.

Meanwhile Rakiraki Police are now trying to determine if the hand of a human found on Monday at Raravatu near Rakiraki town is part of the body found yesterday.

SP Vijay Singh who is heading the investigations is expected to reveal more details of the discovery in the next hour.

A total of twenty forensic officers left Suva early this morning and are currently at the scene.
