The Major Crimes Unit is now investigating a number of staff from the Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority for an alleged tax return scam.
Police Spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed that several FIRCA staff are under interrogation where is it alleged that they were setting up bogus accounts to claim tax returns.
FIRCA CEO Jitoko Tikolevu confirmed to Fijivillage that currently two of their staff are being questioned in relation to fraud allegations.
Tikolevu said FIRCA's Internal investigators are also looking into the matter and are assisting police in their investigations.
