Major Announcements Expected from Interim Govt on Looming Strike
Village News has received confirmation that the members of the Confederation met Chaudhry again last night to try and reach an agreement on certain issues.
Members of the Confederation, when contacted this morning confirmed that they returned for another round of talks with Chaudhry and the meeting finished late last night, however they refused to comment further.
Village News has established that the proposals agreed to between the two parties last night is the gradual restoration of the five percent pay cut starting from December this year, that the Partnership Agreement signed with the ousted government remains intact, but all payment be deferred until further notice.
It has also been confirmed that the two parties have agreed not to deliberate further on the reduction of the retirement age from 60 to 55 years as a separate Union has taken the matter to court. However, the Unions have proposed that the PSC stop its implementation until the court makes a ruling on the matter.
Interim Public Service Minister Poseci Bune is currently putting together a statement before the unions are informed of the interim government's decision.
