Tourism Fiji is hoping that hotel and resort owners will not implement significant increases to their food and beverage prices.
Chairman Patrick Wong said after the devaluation of the Fiji dollar by 20% in April, the price of goods and services are increasing.
However, he stressed that food and beverage prices in hotels and resorts in Fiji have been on the higher end and operators must try to maintain current prices.
A number of hotel and resort operators said they are yet to increase their food and beverage prices but it is something that they are currently looking into as the wholesale prices have been increased.
The Hoteliers Association is yet to comment on the matter.
Meanwhile, as announced by the Fosters Group last week, beer prices will increase by 5%, Ready to Drink beverages will increase by 8% and spirit prices will increase by 10% from today.
