Maintaining Fiji’s prominence in the field of rugby is a key highlight to Fiji’s national 7s rugby team to the 2013 Moscow World Cup.

Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama pointed this out as he officially handed over jerseys to the Digicel Fiji 7s team and the Fijiana women’s team in Russia earlier today.

Commodore Bainimarama reminded the players of the support they have from all Fijians.

He told them that they have only four days in Moscow to make sure that they maintain the name of Fiji and rugby.

Commodore Bainimarama said Fiji is well known for many things and the most prominent is our peacekeeping duties and our rugby talents.

The Prime Minister said the most important thing is to be alert and to make sure that the players support each other and play hard.

Commodore Bainimarama also said he is proud to witness the growth and development of rugby amongst our young women who have made it to the Women’s World Cup.

The Prime Minister presented the jerseys to the rugby teams at the Crown Plaza in Moscow, after he arrived in Moscow earlier today.
