We will not turn off the main power supply for Earth Hour tomorrow night.
Fiji Electricity Authority Chief Executive Sunil De Silva confirms the main power supply will not be switched off for Earth hour but it’s for people themselves to have the initiative to switch off all unnecessary lights.
Also, two major companies, Telecom Fiji Limited and Air Pacific Limited have pledge their support towards the Earth Hour initiative.
TFL CEO Taito Tabaleka said their support is an extension of TFL's internal energy savings drive and a reflection of the Company's commitment to reducing global warming through energy saving.
Air Pacific CEO John Campbell said they are willing to join the initiative adding lights and computer monitors will be turned off in their head office and regional offices, where it doesn't impact on operational safety and service.
Earth Hour is to be held tomorrow night from 8-9pm.
