There are revelations that all the mahogany and pine forests in the country have never been surveyed by the Lands Ministry.
Interim Lands Minister Netani Sukanaivalu said he is surprised that so many years and governments have come and gone but no survey has been carried out to determine the true value of the forests.
Sukanaivalu said they will also survey the native lands for the first time which are being used by state institutions.
The surveying is expected to start soon.
