Ousted Opposition leader Mick Beddoes has criticised Interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry for commending the leadership of Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama.
According to Beddoes such praises from Chaudhry is not surprising with the imminent reshuffle of the interim cabinet looming.
According to SDL's National Director Peceli Kinivuai the nation does not want to hear Chaudhry singing his bosses praises but how the interim government is spending the people’s money.
Speaking to Village News Chaudhry said that Commodore Frank Bainimarama was an in-experienced man to fill the Prime Ministers shoes, but so far he has handled his responsibilities very well.
According to Chaudhry, Bainimarama is a person who will do anything to ensure that the country moves forward.
Meanwhile, the Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Saiyad Khaiyum has expressed similar sentiments as the Interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry, that the Interim Prime Minister has done a good job leading the country forward without having any political background.
Speaking on a talkback show on our sister station Radio Sargam, he said Commodore Frank Bainimarama has a military background and has never served in parliament however under the circumstances which faced the country politically and financially, with the Qoliqoli bill, reconcilliation bill and the level of racisim that had existed, it was not an easy task to lead the country.
