Resident magistrate, Ganga Arachchi has been appointed to the post of Acting Chief Registrar.
In a press statement, released this morning Attorney general and Minister for Justice Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum revealed that Magistrate Arachchi is now the Acting Chief Registrar while Magistrate Pamila Ratnayake has been appointed as the Acting Chief magistrate.
The position of Chief Registrar became vacant when the contract of Ana Rokomokoti ended.
Rokomokoti was appointed into the position of Acting Chief Registrar since April, 2009 and more recently following her confirmation as Chief Registrar.
It is now understood that Major Ana Rokomokoti has been recalled to the army barracks.
