The Macuata 15's rugby team is just a game away from returning to the major union ranks of rugby in Fiji.

This Saturday the team will face Namosi in the promotion relegation match with the winner going to the major union next season.

Manager Ratu Isei Rayawa said the mission when they left Labasa two weeks ago is now nearly complete with only the game against Namosi as a hurdle in their way to the major union.

Rayawa added the presence of the Army and Police players in the team is a boost especially with former Fiji Warriors wing Apisalome Waqatabu in top form for the side.

Macuata last played in the major union competition in 2002 and 8 years on they feel they can again be with the big boys of rugby in 2010.

The Macuata and Namosi promotion relegation match kicks-off at 1pm this Saturday as the curtain raiser to the 4th BSP Farebrother Sullivan trophy challenge between Nadroga and Tailevu.
