Former Redrock 7s team speedster Jone Macilai is expected to play against his fellow countrymen after being named in the Northland team for the upcoming Coral Coast 7s next month.
Macilai was part of the Redrock team that won the Coral Coast 7s last year scoring two tries in the final and later secured a rugby contract to play in New Zealand.
Macilai will be joined by former All Blacks 7s player William Whetton.
Coral Coast 7s Chief orgarniser Jay White said Northland and Pakuranga are the two New Zealand teams that have confirmed their participation while the US will also be fielding two teams in the competition.
The Coral Coast 7s will be held from the 14th to the 16th of next month.
