Former Vodafone Fiji Bati squad member, Jone Macilai looks set to play Super Rugby from next year.

The Blues, the Chiefs and the Crusaders have shown interest in Macilai.

Macilai who currently plays for Northland Rugby in New Zealand said the contractual arrangements are yet to be finalised but there are indications that the Crusaders might pick him in a few weeks’ time.

The former Red Rock speedster was picked by Awanui rugby coach Glen Subritzky while playing at a local sevens tournament in Fiji in 2012 and was offered a three-year contract with the Northland ITM side last year.

Macilai also spent time in the Blues development squad before this year’s Super Rugby competition.
