Around 50 passengers who were onboard the MV Tunatuki remain stranded in Lakeba in Lau after the vessel developed an electrical fault while travel to Moce Island late yesterday afternoon.

The General Manager of Salia Basaga shipping owners of the Tunatuki, Samuela Tukana confirmed the vessel was on its way to Moce and had to return to Lakeba where an electrician was on standby to look at the problem.

Tukana said there was no fire on board adding that today they will look at the options of towing the boat back to Suva or sending their electricians to the island to fix the problem.

He said at the moment the passengers are being looked after by the people of Lakeba and today their travel will be sorted.
