Former Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands and current Opposition MP, Manasseh Sogavare said the Melanesian Spearhead Group Chairmanship should be given to Fiji's Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama.

Sogavare has described the current MSG as a "laughing stock" after after the proposed meeting set for this week was put on hold.

He also questioned why Solomon Islands is being used as a  reconciliation ground for a blunder deliberately created by Vanuatu Prime Minister, Edward Natapei.

Sogavare said there needs to be some understanding on what Bainimarama is trying to do in Fiji.
