A new body that will look at furthering Fijian studies will be set up at the University of the South Pacific after the signing of an agreement worth thousands of dollars.

The Memorandum between the Fijian Trust Fund Board and USP was signed earlier this week and according to Vice Chancellor Professor Rajesh Chandra, this will see young people able to adapt to their cultures smoothly.

This is also in line with Government directive that Fijian language and culture be taught in all learning institutions.

The one hundred thousand dollar MOU will see the Advisory Council set up after a series of talks between the two parties and will also see more projects, programs and research as well as the hiring of two vernacular teachers.
