The management of MH Homemaker and Supermarket store in Labasa is still calculating the total cost of damage after the fire last night completely destroyed their shop.
General Manager, Daniel Whippy said they estimate the damages to be in millions.
Whippy also confirmed their members of staff are now being interviewed by Police and they will also hold a staff meeting soon in relation to the fire.
Whippy said they do not have any idea as to how the fire started because they had closed the shop at 4pm yesterday.
Police Spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri said the National Fire Authority responded in time and were quick in their action which saved the attached and nearby shops from sustaining any damages.
Meanwhile, with PWD having to divert water in the town to put the fire out, areas in Labasa town and nearby areas will be facing water disruptions today.
Ministry of Works spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete said the disruptions are the result of the Ministry re-diverting water to put off the fire and low water in reservoirs but adds water supply is expected to normalize later this afternoon.
