The Labasa Chamber of Commerce said the burning down of Labasa branch MH Supermarket and Homemaker will surely have a negative impact on Labasa's economy.
President Ashok Karan said there is also no word on whether the 47 workers of MH Labasa branch will be retained.
According to Karan, MH had contributed a lot to the Northern economy since it was established.
Meanwhile, a team of forensic officers from Suva will today carry out necessary investigations in relation to the Saturday night fire that completely destroyed the MH complex.
