A team of Forensic Officers are expected to arrive in Labasa today to carry out necessary investigations on the fire that engulfed the MH Supermarket and Homemaker Store on Saturday evening.
A team of Police Officers are still guarding the fire site.
The MH Supermarket and Homemaker Management, Labasa store are hoping they will be back on their feet in a month's time, after the whole building, products included was completely destroyed in the fire which is believed to have started at around 8 in the evening when the shop was closed.
General Manager, Daniel Whippy, while not elaborating on the fate of their 47 staff, promised that their shop will be relocated to its hardware site.
Whippy also revealed that they are also trying to determine the cause of the fire as they had closed at 4 that afternoon.
Police Spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri said it’s too early to pre-empt anything and they will wait for the report from the Forensic Officers.
