The Management of the MH Supermarket and Homemaker Labasa store is hoping they will be back on their feet in a month’s time.
This after their whole building along with the products in the shop were completely destroyed in a fire last night.
General Manager Daneil Whippy while could not elaborate on the fate of their 47 staffs, promised that their shop will be relocated to its hardware site.
he fire is believed to have started at around 8 in the evening when the shop was closed. Whippy also revealed that they are also trying to determine the cause of the fire as they had closed up t 4pm in the afternoon.
A team of Police Officers are still guarding the fire site as a team of Forensic Officers will arrive in Labasa tomorrow to carry out necessary investigations.
Police Spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri said it’s too early to pre-empt anything and they will wait for the report from the Forensic Officers.

The MH Homemaker and Supermarket store located in the main street of Labasa was completely destroyed in a fire last night.
Labasa Police have confirm the fire started around 9.30 last night, engulfing the whole building in couple of minute’s time.
Police Spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri also confirms the National Fire Authority responded in time and was quick in their action which saved the attached and nearby shops from sustaining any damages.
A team of Police and Fire Officers are still at scene monitoring the situation. No one sustained injuries in the incident.
Meanwhile, Water disruptions are expected to occur in Labasa and nearby areas after the MH Homemaker and Supermarket were totally burnt down last night.
Ministry of Works spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete said the disruptions are the result of the Ministry re-diverting water to put off the fire.
Water supply is expected to normalize later this afternoon.
