Australian High Commissioner to Fiji James Batley has confirmed the Ministerial Contact Group for Fiji will be in the country next week.

Radio Australia reported that the six member group is made up of Foreign Ministers from Australia, NZ, Samoa, Tonga, PNG and Tuvalu.

They will be using the meeting to advise the Pacific Islands Forum on whether Fiji should be suspended from the Forum for refusing to hold elections next year.

It is the second meeting for the group and they are expected to be in Fiji from the 10th to the 12th of December.
