“It’s more than just a rugby match.”

That’s the statement from Marist Brothers High School U17 rugby coach Navitalai Waiwalu as they prepare to play Saint Johns College in the Father Foley Cup Challenge.

Waiwalu says the match will also be a warm-up game for the new schools rugby 15’s season but importantly the revival of the Father Foley Cup Challenge.

He said last year they revived the challenge between the two schools after 30 years.

Waiwalu said the match is not about winning but also sharing the culture between the two schools and getting to know each other better.

The Under 15, 16 and 17 Marist rugby teams have already left for Levuka and will play tomorrow.
