Former Vodafone Fiji 7s rep Joeli Lutumailagi is one of the standout players on day one of the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s.

Lutumailagi showed his class as he scored four tries for his Tabadamu Blues side in their three pool games.

Tabadamu Blues is one of the 16 teams that will feature in the first round of eliminations that starts this hour.

Top teams that have qualified for the first round of eliminations includes defending champions Tokatoka Resort Westfield Babas, Wardens Gold, Yamacia, Police, Army, Red Rock, Wardens Green, Marist One, Wellington, Lomaiviti Babas, Uprising and Tabadamu.

Meanwhile, Yamacia captain and Vodafone Fiji 7s player Semi Kunatani said they can win the Marist 7s title.


There's also good news for rugby fans as anyone who pays for their tickets for the tournament is eligible to win return air tickets anywhere in the world except the United States.

Marist Club President Lawrence Tikaram said the draw will be held tomorrow.


Looking at the results, Lomaiviti Babas beat Nawaka 31-5, Westfield thumped Uluinakau three 42-0, Wardens Green defeated Uluinakau One 12-5, Red Rock beat Waqavuka 21-0, Hideaway Hurricanes defeated FNU 26-0, Yamacia thrashed Nabua Babas 40-0, Police beat Tabadamu yellow 40-12.

Vodafone Fiji 7s coach, Ben Ryan will announce a 16 member squad this Saturday to prepare for the Japan 7s which will be held on the 22nd and 23rd of this month.
