With 4 days remaining for the 2015 Pacific Games, former national sevens playmaker Jiuta Lutumailagi has set his focus on delivering a performance of a lifetime for the Vodafone Fiji Bati in Papua New Guinea.
Lutumailagi wants to be the sparking element that will drive the Fiji Bati to claim a gold medal in the Rugby League 9s competition.
Considering that he only started playing rugby league in January this year, Lutumailagi is confident that he can be one of the best in the sport.
Coach Maika Vunivere says he has proved himself in the local 9s competitions and has also been called in because of his sevens background.
He says Lutumailagi’s abilities as a playmaker and defensive organizer is overwhelming and will be a great boost to the side.
The Fiji Bati last won gold at the Pacific Games in 2007 in Samoa.
Their main competitors will be Papua New Guinea, Samoa and Tonga.
The Pacific Games will start this Friday while the opening ceremony will be on Saturday.
