Lt. Colonel Mason Smith has left for New York on Saturday to take up his new position as Fiji's Permanent representative to the United Nations.

Military Spokesperson Major Neumi Leweni confirmed to leg Village news this afternoon that Col. Mason left with his family as he will be in the position for four years.

Leweni confirms that his posting as the Military Attaché to China and Colonel Pita Driti's appointment as Ambassador Malaysia is still be sorted out and no date has been set for them to leave as yet.
