Suva Water Supply believes low water levels at the Waimanu river is causing water disruptions in Lami, Delainavesi and Veisari.
Divisional Water Engineer Central/Eastern, Sereicocoko Yanuyanurua said this problem has been there for a few months now.
He adds replacing water pumps will not solve the problem as water may not be enough to reach the pumps. A 20 year old pump was running dry on Wednesday night which forced it to breakdown yesterday.
Yanuyanurua is hopeful by fixing the water pump at Waimanu, and clearing any constrictions from the inflow of the river to the pump water will normalise in Lami, Delainavesi, Veisari and other affected areas.
Meanwhile, some residents of Wailoku are still complaining of water disruptions from yesterday morning.
