The Arya Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji said as Diwali is a festival of lights, people should remove darkness from within themselves and love one another.
National President, Pundit Bhuwan Datt said this is how they believe people living in a multicultural and multiracial nation like Fiji should celebrate Diwali.
He added from religious point of view there is no significance of use of firecrackers during Diwali as this pollutes the air and there should be minimal use of crackers.
Diwali will be celebrated this Friday.
