Love is in the air for the New Zealand 7s team as they build up for the Hong Kong 7s next month.

While a 15-strong squad will attend the first two training camps in the Bay of Plenty town of Ohope this week, New Zealand captain DJ Forbes and Steven Yates will not be there because they are both getting married.

Following tournament wins in Dubai, George, Wellington and San Diego, New Zealand leads the IRB 7’s Series on 80 points, ahead of South Africa on 48 points, Fiji on 44 and Samoa on 38.

The hope camp marks the return to the squad of Afeleke Pelenise, who missed the first four tournaments of the new season because of a knee injury.

The Hong Kong 7’s tournament will be held on 28-30 March.
