Eleven injuries in the space of two tournaments has left Sir Gordon Tietjens' All Blacks Sevens squad decimated and seventh in the World Series standings.
Injured captain Scott Curry says the injuries have taken a toll on the team.
He says it makes life pretty tough when you're losing especially experienced guys and losing them at that rate.
He thinks unleashing some of the younger players in the team might change their fate, but admits this could be tough for them.
His rehab time could see him miss the rest of the World Sevens Series in the lead up to the Rio Olympics, but he's confident his place in the Games squad is not in jeopardy.
