A lorry driver died this afternoon after the lorry he was driving was hit by a ten wheeler truck at Vitogo, Lautoka.

Police said at around 2pm he was transporting sugarcane to the Lautoka Mill, when he lost control of the lorry and went on to the opposite lane and hit a ten wheeler truck.

Other details of the deceased have not been released as the next of kin is yet to be informed.

According to police, eyewitnesses said the bad weather in Lautoka may have contributed to this incident.

Meanwhile, two passengers in this lorry also received injuries and are currently admitted at the Lautoka Hospital.
