The Immigration Department has admitted that there are loopholes in their monitoring systems.

This follows the arrest of two Tongan nationals who have been in the country since late 2007, and were arrested after a tip-off.

Director Immigration, Major Nemani Vuniwaqa said they will be looking at their certification and verification process and re-examining their surveillance system.

He added that a team has been set up to overhaul the operations of the Department.
