London teen cleared of stabbing Fiji man
18 year old Jahangir Hussein admitted knifing 27 year old Robert Venevuci in the stomach and heart, at his sister's flat in Wood Land, Isleworth, England.
Hussein said he reacted during a heated row fearing Venevuci would attack his sister.
He was cleared of murder and manslaughter by a jury on Wednesday, after almost six hours of deliberations at the end of the two week trial.
The verdict was met with gasps from the public gallery.
The court heard that Venevuci had moved into the flat of Hussein's sister, who, after awhile complained about the way the flat was being cared for.
On the night of his death at the flat, Venevuci had drunk almost a whole bottle of vodka and approached Hussein's sister.
A confrontation ensued and Hussein, who was there, then claimed Venevuci punched him and reached for the blade but Hussein got to it first, using it against Venevuci adding he acted in self defence.
