Lolohea won’t be allowed to leave
Director Immigration Nemani Vuniwaqa said they will ensure he does not leave the country.
Lolohea, who is at the center of investigations after he allegedly obtained over $3 million from 20,000 people after promising them jobs in Kuwait, was not on the immigration travel watch list in the past, which enabled him to enter the country undetected.
Vuniwaqa said the reason why Lolohea was previously not a prohibited traveler was to ensure that he returns to Fiji.
Police have started to receive more complaints from people against Lolohea who promised thousands of people jobs in Kuwait a few years ago.
Deputy Director Police Operations SP Erami Raibe confirmed police received some complaints against Lolohea over the weekend and they will also look at the previous reports which were lodged a few years back.
A special Police team has now been formed to conduct a detailed investigation against Lolohea.
Meanwhile, the Mata-ni-tikina of Waidina, Naitasiri, Koroi Siganivalu claimed when they had reported the matter to police in 2005, he was told that the matter should be referred to the Small Claims Tribunal.
Police are expected to comment on this later.
Lolohea is back in Fiji and going around freely with a big sign outside his house of another recruitment drive for Dubai.
Fijivillage had established through the Meridian Services Office in Suva in 2005 that they had received registration fees from 20,000 locals and Lolohea was out of the country.
This brings the total amount collected by Lolohea and his company to $3 million.
Lolohea did not return to Fiji and none of the people who gave him the job registration fees were given employment in Kuwait.
