The Ministry of Labour is now monitoring the activities of Meridian Services Timoci Lolohea to ensure he is not continuing with his recruitment drive.

The Ministry confirms that as per the decision of the Employments Relations Tribunal late on Friday, Lolohea is not permitted to conduct any recruitment and they will ensure that any such activities does not continue.

The Ministry also said that while they do not want to discourage people from finding employment, they are requesting people  who want to find employment overseas to check with the Ministry first to ensure the recruiting agency is authorized to do so by the Ministry.

The tribunal has ordered that Lolohea refrain from recruiting by enlisting, registration, placing advertisement for filling vacancies and offering of employment contracts for and on behalf of an employer to applicants for employment outside Fiji.

Meanwhile, Police also confirm that based on alleged breaches of the labour laws, they are also investigating the matter.

Police could not confirm when or if Lolohea would be taken in for questioning.
