The man who allegedly obtained over 3 million dollars from 20,000 people after promising them jobs in Kuwait has been questioned and released.
Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Atunaisa Sokomuri confirms that they have received numerous complaints from people against the Meridian Service recruiting agent Timoci Lolohea following which he was taken in for questioning.
Few years ago Lolohea had promised thousands of people jobs in Kuwait.
A special Police team has now been formed to conduct a detailed investigation against Lolohea.
Last month Fijivillage established through the Meridian Services Office in Suva in 2005 that they had received registration fees from 20 thousand locals and Lolohea was out of the country. This brings the total amount collected by Lolohea and his company to 3 million dollars.
Lolohea did not return to Fiji and none of the people who gave him the job registration fees were given employment in Kuwait.
