The Labour Ministry will soon meet with police to discuss the recruitment being conducted by Timoci Lolohea.
Acting Labour Permanent Secretary, Samuela Namosimalua told Fijivillage News this morning that Lolohea is not following proper procedures and has not met certain requirements to recruit people to work in Dubai.
He said Lolohea is clearly breaching the law and he can be prosecuted.
According to Namosimalua, Lolohea should stop the recruitment process immediately since he is also under police investigations.
Early this morning he revealed that Timoci Lolohea has no authorization to recruit people to work overseas.
He said that under the new Employment Promulgation, an agency that recruits people to work overseas should meet certain requirements.
Namosimalua highlighted that Lolohea has neither met the requirements nor he has obtained any authorization from the Ministry.
Meanwhile, Police are awaiting a response from the DPP's office on files in relation to the investigation on Lolohea.
Assistant Spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the files were sent to the DPP's office some weeks ago and they are awaiting responses before deciding on the next step.
