The case regarding Timoci Lolohea in relation to his recruitment of locals for an overseas agency, has been deferred yet again as the Labour Ministry seeks further legal advice.

This was revealed in the Employments Relations Tribunal who said that the case which was supposed to be heard on the first of this month, has been deferred to the 2nd of next month as the Ministry of Labour looks at seeking further legal advice from the Solicitor General=s Office.

Lolohea, who operates Meridian Services Agency Limited, is charged with allegedly failing to obtain authority from the Labour Minister contrary to Regulation 4 of the Employment Promulgation to recruit people for jobs overseas.

Meanwhile, Lolohea had been told by Chief Tribunal Senivalati Kuru-duadua in an earlier Court sitting to file for a business permit with the Permanent Secretary of Labour, however Legend FM News confirms that nothing has been filed with the Ministry as yet.

The case which was called on the 20th of last month was adjourned after prosecution lawyer and Principal Labour Officer, Malakai Rokoti informed the Tribunal that they needed time to file new amended charges.

He had earlier pleaded not guilty to the charge and the matter was set for hearing today.

The matter will now be heard on the 2nd of July.
