Logistical problems have led to the delay in initiating operation kadivuka to contain and eradicate the spread of the deadly termite outbreak in the Lautoka area.
Chief of Operations Lemeki Ratucicivi said the cause in delay is because of the huge amount of purchase that needed to be made and the operation will now start from Wednesday.
Areas identified to have been infested with the termites have been divided into zones.
These include Zone 1 which is Tomuka to Tavakubu area which are the most infested, Zone 2 is from
Natabua to Wairabetia Road where reports of infestation have been received and Zone 3 Naikabula to Drasa Dam Road which is the buffer zones.
