The Nadi Weather Office said there was localized flooding in Rakiraki early this morning.

Director Rajendra Prasad said in Rakiraki alone, over 175 mm of rainfall was recorded last night whereas in other places below 50mm of rain was recorded.

The low pressure system has passed over the main islands and the weather is expected to improve today.

Meanwhile, Gallau, Waimari Irish crossings, Raiwasa Mead road, and FSC road is still under two feet of water as water is receding in Rakiraki.

Police said rain eased this morning.

Flood waters in Rakiraki town have receded and the Kings road is open to all traffic.
