The Pacific Rugby Cup will be the last chance for local players to impress national 15s selectors that they can be part of the Flying Fijians for the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.

Playing against development teams from the Super 15 rugby franchise in New Zealand and Australia, coach Samu Domoni will use this game as a measuring stick of how well the local players can perform against those who are just a step away from playing in the top level competition.

Domoni said the opening game against Queensland Reds development side on Saturday night will be the start of 8 weeks of competition, where they expect those who want to don the white jumper to step up and show their worth.
