One of our very own Charlene Mc Gechan Hatch is part of NZ Master Chef.
This is the first time ever a Fijian has become part of the famous cooking TV contest.
Charlene born and raised in Lautoka, worked at Air Pacific before migrating to New Zealand.
As the top 25 fighting to make it into the top 16, Charlene created a Fijian curry chicken dish.
Speaking exclusively to Fijivillage from New Zealand, McGechan shared on a local ingredient she missed while fixing this dish.
The former Natabua student said the chicken curry was accompanied with roti and salsa yet she only wished there was mango in the pantry.
Charlene said her love for home-cooking inspired her to join NZ Master Chef.
