The organizers of the Uprising Fiji International 7s tournament are trying to sign a local coach who will be responsible to guide the Digicel Matai Text select team.

New Zealand 7s rugby coach, Gordon Tietjens who is the head coach of the Digicel Matai team, will arrive in the country just before the tournament kicks off and the local coach appointed will work with Tietjens in the tournament.

Organizer, Randall Kamea said Fiji Rugby Union Development Manager, Sale Sorovaki and Epeli Uluiviti are top choice at the moment to take the coaches position however nothing has been finalised.

Meanwhile, Bay of Plenty rugby team has ruled itself out of the tournament.

Kamea said they will try to fit in another overseas team but if they are unsuccessful then a local team may be slotted in.

The Wardens and Army teams have confirmed their participation in the tournament.

The Uprising Fiji International 7s tournament will be held on the 21st and 22nd of this month at the TFL stadium.
